Aerial Leak Detection & Asset Integrity Surveys
Targeted leak surveys of all potential gas and liquid leak sources using aerial survey technologies.
All potential leak sources are covered
AIS leak risk management surveys detect, validate, quantify, tag, risk assess and report actual or potential leak risks from gas production facilities (well heads), gathering systems (low pressure pipelines), gas processing facilities (compressor stations), distribution lines (high pressure pipelines), downstream processing facilities (liquefaction), and shipping infrastructure (storage tanks, terminals & ships).
AIS terrestrial and aerial leak surveys are done while your process equipment is online. This means zero interruption to your gas production and processing.
CASA approved Hazardous Area drone services
AIS is an Australian Civil Aviation Authority (CASA) certified remote piloted aerial services (RPAS) provider.
ReOC Licence Number: 8643
We have approvals in place with CASA to deliver remote piloted aerial survey (RPAS) services in restricted airspace.
This enables us to perform drone based asset integrity and leak risk management surveys in hazardous process facilities located within restricted Class C airspace.
We perform visual line of sight (VLOS) surveys and extended-VLOS on hazardous area process facilities.
We also deliver confined space beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) surveys inside hazardous process equipment.
Flexibility
We deploy a range of drone platforms and sensor combinations to suit the survey objective.
Platforms include fixed wing long endurance systems for pipeline right-of-way surveys or heavy lift multi-rotor systems for multi-payload surveys.
Technology integration
We have in-house capability, or can partner with other drone sensor technology providers, to integrate a technology package into our Capture-Measure-Manage workflow to deliver data sets that enable informed asset integrity and leak risk management decisions.
Confined Space Asset Integrity Surveys
AIS has extensive experience performing beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) confined space asset integrity drone surveys for clients in the energy sector.
Process assets surveyed and the asset condition information delivered form part of Australia's critical energy infrastructure network.
Methane Emissions Surveys
We perform gas leak risk management surveys within, above or around gas processing facilities. We deploy drones fitted with sensor technology to quantify Methane emissions downwind from out-of-reach process components including:
-
Compressor seal gas vent stacks,
-
Oil & Produced water separation vent stacks,
-
Pressure Relief Valve Vents on storage tanks,
-
Process column vents & PSV's
Drones are fitted with sensors to detect, geo-locate and quantify TOC or VOC emissions to atmosphere.
-
Methane emissions within the atmosphere above or downwind from the potential leak sources are quantified using tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy sensors (LAS)
Other gas leak detection sensor technologies include Thermography (FLIR) or optical gas imaging (OGI).
Bulk Storage Tank Farm Bund Integrity Surveys
Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors are deployed to detect potential leak sources from bulk storage tank bunds.
Bund integrity surveys include bund wall profile and bund height assessments in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1940 (2017) - storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids.
Bulk Storage Tank Coating / Detection Surveys
AIS deploys high resolution 2-D & 3-D imaging sensors to perform baseline tank coating condition surveys.

Tank coating or cladding condition surveys are done quickly, safely and cost effectively. AIs drone pilots and technicians have extensive experience operating in and around Oil & Gas Exploration & Production facilities and other high-risk industrial plants.

For tank surveys we capture high-resolution monoscopic and stereoscopic panoramic images and 3-D video of points of interest on a tank.
We use this data to generate and host a fully interactive online Siteview of your tank farm or terminal facility.
The Siteview functions as a collaborative & interactive reality environment used by asset managers to make informed asset integrity and leak risk management decisions.

Follow-up surveys are done at scheduled time intervals to visually verify condition variation over the useful life of the asset.
